WOOHOO NEWS March 2013
BIG THANKS - to all Friends of The Texettes who attended the "COUNTRY RnR" launch @ The Joiners Arms in December and @ the Duke gig. Lots of new faces and very positive feedback. We're not only thrilled that fans are really enjoying the new live sound, but also industry people such as Jethro Heller, youView Australia.
Our next gig will be to support The Beggars at their Euro tour launch and fund raiser on Friday June 14th. Check out their credentials and their music @ beggars.com.au and then check them out live at the gig.
WHAT'S BEEN GOIN' ON ?? We didn't get to Tamworth, however it was good to see that the song Eldorado, yet to be released, was a finalist in Tamworth Songwriter's Professional Contemporary Country Comp.
It's official - we have a Texettes Fan in Oustwood NL, which is a small town in the Dutch province of North Holland with a population of around 925 as at 2007! Really keen as 4 albums were downloaded, so we're curious as to how he discovered our music.
WELCOME TO OUR NEW DRUMMER We welcome the very talented John Appelby to the Band' together with the also very talented Denis, Sam and Dave, we're working on 4 new tracks to be released as singles. Sounds easy? well with so many new songs to choose from, it's a big job. So far we've decided on one song, "Innocence" which we think is a boomer! Naturally, the Friends of The Texettes' opinions will be vital, as we'll road test the songs at gigs first and then the fun will begin as we head for the recording studio.
WOOHOO and THANKS FOR THE AIRPLAY Big thanks for the "airplay alert" texts from fans. We'd like to thank the presenters of ThreeD's "Frontears" who have been giving the award winning "After the Fire" a thrashing apparently; ThreeD announcers who played "All Through The Night" enabling it to make the "Most Played New Releases Chart Dec 2011-Jan 2012 within2 weeks; ABC Radio's "Saturday Morning" presenter Ashley Walsh for spinning "The Land That we Love" on Australia Day. We've also picked up some new stations, 3NOW 'THAT'S cOUNTRY"; 4OURS "Tracy and the Big D Country"; 3PCR 'Solid Gold"; 3YRR "Homespun Country"; 2LVR "Another Day in Paradise"; PHFM Peakhillp; 5WOW "Tru Blu". It's great to see that longtime presenter Wyn Machon NZ is still giving us a spin.
MARKETING and PROMOTION We've selected "Honey You're Poison" to feature on a nationally released compilation, disc Jack, Jill and Coke, distributed through street press, aimed directly at the Victorian market. The release is scheduled for May.
The Texettes also featured as a guest artists in the international industry mag Direct Buzz, which has a global readership of more than 35,000 artists, labels and over 8,000 radio stations in 85 countries - all good!
