WOOHOO!
It’ll be here soon enough so here’s wishing all Friends of the Texettes a Merry Xmas and a Happy 2010—click this link The Prayer to hear our Xmas message to you, in song.
It’s all about Tamworth for us at the moment. We’ve got a few performances lined up, we’ll do a few walk ups, some busking and enjoy time soaking up the atmosphere that is Tamworth….for me it’ll be seeing Kasey Chambers and The Shielas live.
Texettes went behind bars to do time in the old Port Augusta jail, but it was for a worthy cause. Our very talented “prison guard” Paul Lloyd, aka Piccolo Pete, a volunteer at the Friends of the Australian Arid Lands Botanic Garden, was presenting his outstanding photographic exhibition of arid plants and wouldn’t you know we had a new song for the occasion, “Cactus Flowers”, which will be on the new release in 2010.
It’s just not cricket to be interviewed by The Uglies (99.9 Voice FM Ballarat) after spending the afternoon with friends on Day 4 at Adelaide Oval! The interview will go to air sometime in February ...hic! after some editing I trust.
New Release 2010: “Sure Fire Cure” has received heads up from Mike Parkes (Kicking Country 88.7 Coast FM) who feels that there are possibly “two potential hits” on the 12 track album. “It’s the most consistent...best Texettes album yet”. Don’t Call Me Sweetheart”, our new promotional CD, features 14 of our best, including remixes of “Tell Me Sweetheart”, “Ride On” and “The Pilgrim Song”.
Thanks for the Review “The Lady & the Tramp” - “Heads up country fans! ….a top-notch release here, with sixteen tracks of laid-back, earthy goodness. ……Overall, this is a great release from yet another group of seriously talented locals. Country fans especially should find plenty to love here..Terry delivers his vocals with a laid-back drawl ….when Helen joins in on harmonies the results are divine...particularly on gospel-tinged highlight “Distant Shore”. Another standout is “Miss Cigarettes”...features Helen on lead vocals…. the mournful sound of (Dale’s) harmonica really adds to the feel of the song”. WOOHOO and thanks for the airplay – to the dj’s who play our music and then email us with their feedback; to those who have taken the time to conduct interviews; the stations who have chosen L&TT as feature album and to AMRAP for getting the distribution right. Please support stations that support Indie artists.
Cheers, Helen, Terry and Dale
